Military Genealogy Researching
Military Genealogy Research The Burlington Genealogical Society invites the public to the Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017; 6-8 pm presentation and workshop on Military Genealogy Research. Most everyone has an ancestor or many ancestors, who have served in the military at some point in history. Learn where to begin research, new places to research, and how to deepen your research. Members are also invited to bring a story that introduces one of their ancestor’s military stories, as well as photographs, artifacts, documents or copies of documents that enrich the story of those we remember and honor for their service. This workshop will cover discovering if your ancestor may have been in the military, and research methods to learning more about their service. The Genealogical Society welcomes visitors and members come from all around southeastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois to take part, and new visitors are always welcome. Members, both novices and experts, have researched ancestors from all around the world. The program will be held at the Burlington Gateway Building, Room 100; 496 McCanna Parkway, Burlington, Wisconsin. It is the first building south of the Burlington High School. Parking is free and the building is handicap accessible.
