The Burlington Area Garden Club Announces July 9 Garden Walk.

Garden enthusiasts are invited to view five stunning gardens and two community gardens during the Garden Club’s 2017 Walk and Raffle.  On Sunday, July 9, the Walk will be held from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  This fun event will give the public an opportunity to visit picturesque and unique gardens in the Burlington and surrounding areas.  Take a country drive to discover a uniquely eclectic garden with annuals and perennials intermingled with rustic buildings and rusty objects.  Stroll down a city street to view three properties with gardens of multi-colored blooms, distinctly beautiful landscaping, and a hidden infinity waterfall.  A welcoming rose covered arbor will lead to a garden of thyme and stone.  Hardscape of boulders, stone benches and raked sand accent a tranquil courtyard. For inspiration and reflection, visit this secret gem of a garden consisting of statues, birdbath, and bubbling water feature.  Interacting within our gardens, will be talented artists from The Gathering displaying their works.

Advance tickets will be $8 and $10 the day of the Walk.  Tickets can be purchased at Burlington Garden Center, Richter’s Marketplace, Breezy Hill Nursery, Gooseberries Fresh Food Market, or Milaeger’s in Sturtevant.  The day of the Walk tickets will be sold for $10 at the gazebo at Wehmhoff Square located on the corner of Pine and Washington Streets near the Burlington Public Library.  Event will be held rain or shine.

The raffle this year will include great items such as a $250 Visa card, $250 gas card, garden gift baskets, and many more interesting and unique prizes.  The drawing will be held at 3:30 PM on July 9 at the Wehmhoff Square gazebo and winner need not be present to win.

Proceeds from the Walk will allow the Garden Club to present grants to local service organizations and scholarships to students studying in horticulture related fields at either the technical college or university level.
