You may have noticed The Vintage Square" mentioned recently on our Facebook, Discover the Treasures and other social media. There will be vendors in Wehmhoff Square Park but...with a focus on all things vintage, antique, primitive, reclaimed, repurposed, upcycled and handmade. You can enjoy craft beer, wine, food & music while you shop unique wares.
In addition to The Vintage Square, Maxwell Street Day vendors will be throughout town on the sidewalks offering a variety of products and services. Interested in the Chalk Walk??? Inspired by the tradition of recreating masterpieces on the street where everyday people could see them, sidewalk chalk festivals have popped up from coast to coast. Now, the Burlington Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 1st Annual Chalk Walk at Maxwell Street Days to inspire our local youths, adults, families and groups to showcase their creativity and artistry. CLICK HERE to download a registration form. There will be "DAY OF" registration on Saturday July 28th from 8am to 10am in Wehmhoff Square but remember space is limited. Best part of all there will be prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd & 3rd places.
Rubber Duckie Dash: Join us for Burlington's 1st Annual Duck Dash. Duck Numbers can be purchased 1 for $5 or 3 for $10 from participating businesses in Burlington prior to the release date July 28th. We will be releasing all Rubber Duckies Saturday, July 28th at 1pm downstream from the Echo Park Dam. The first Duck to cross the finish line, located down river by Charcoal Grill will win 50% of the money collected. All other proceeds will go to the Burlington City & Town Fire & Rescue Squad and the Burlington Chamber of Commerce. Remember you are purchasing a Duck Number, not the actual Duck, so you do not have to be present the day of to win. Any questions, please call BACC (262) 763-6044.
Chocolate City Clue Quest Scavenger Hunt: Prove both your speed and intellect in a 21st century scavenger hunt through downtown Burlington on Saturday, July 28th. This is a text message based scavenger hunt through downtown Burlington. You can compete as an individual or with a team of up to 6 people. Each team will be required to have at least 1 cell phone. Start putting those teams together, because the great race officially kicks off at 10am from the Burlington Chamber of Commerce Office, 113 E. Chestnut St., with registration beginning at 9:30am. First team to finish the race wins and prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Trucks & Cars: On Saturday July 28th enjoy an up close look at cars and trucks of all sizes located along the streets of downtown Burlington.
Also, enjoy the ever popular good old-fashioned Ice Cream Social hosted by the Historical Society on Saturday from 10-2pm at the Pioneer Cabin in Wehmhoff Square Park.
