Hands-ON Brainteaser Puzzles to try
Fold, match, fit, jump, disassemble, and more types of puzzle solving is offered Saturday.
>The 90-minute, fun session features 60 hands-on brainteaser and mechanical puzzles to try to solve and is fun for families, individuals and groups!
>"One unique puzzle is just 2 pieces, and another is just 4 pieces! It’s just great perplexing fun," said Judith Schulz museum director. Puzzle types include mechanical, packing, block, sliding, edge matching, transfer styles and other puzzle styles.
>There are bells to ring when a puzzle is solved, adding to the fun of saying “I did it!” A large wooden burr puzzle and jumping puzzles add extra fun for kids and adults. Each person may also make a brainteaser puzzle to keep for more fun later.
>The exhibit showcases vintage and antique puzzles, 100-year-old rebus puzzles, Chinese Checker boards, a sliding block puzzle collection, old ads and memorabilia.
>The Logic Puzzle Museum is for adults and children, ages 5-105, though not younger.
Admission is $9 person. Tickets are required as space is limited and must be ordered by calling ahead.
The gift & toy shop is open after the tours and programs with more than 400 kinds of tops, yo-yos, and gyroscopes plus more than 100 different kinds of logic and brain puzzles. Educational and unusual books are also available in the gift shop.
The non-profit, educational museum is at 533 Milwaukee Avenue, downtown historic Burlington, Wisconsin. Parking is free.
